The styling follows Porsche’s conservative 911 route, even though like Porsche’s Cayenne the big saloon will be front engined. Powering it will be a choice of engines. These are thought to include a 3.5-litre V6 with around 300bhp, a direct-injection 4.5-litre V8 with 350-400bhp and a twin-turbo version with 560bhp.The new four-door model will compete against established rivals like the Mercedes Benz CLS, as well as taking on the anticipated four-door model that Aston Martin exhibited in concept form and badged Rapide. It’ll make the choice of supercar-owning family buyers so much more difficult, Porsche, Aston or Mercedes (don’t rule out a BMW rival either)? Must be nice.
